John Alessio signs deal with EliteXC
It has been reported through multiple sources that former UFC and WEC fighter John Alessio has signed a three fight deal with EliteXC and could be a possible opponent in the near future for the newly crowned EliteXC Welterweight Champion Jake Shields. Alessio (23-11) who has won 4 of his last 5 fights just recently submitted another former UFC veteran in Pete Spratt due to a rear naked choke back in the month of May at a joint boxing and MMA show called "Night of Combat". This seems to be a pretty good move for ProElite as they are beginning to build up a pretty nice welterweight division with Shields, Nick Thompson, Drew Fickett and now John Alessio.
