There is a report going on from Yahoo!Sports saying that the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz (15-6-1) has signed on with Affliction and will be competing on October 11 at the Thomas & Mack Center for the organization's second event versus none other than Renato "Babalu" Sobral (30-7). Yahoo!Sports is also reporting that they spoke with Affliction VP Tom Atencio and he said that he didn't think that Affliction could speak to Ortiz until August 4 because of the 60 day non compete clause he had in his contract, but I guess that doesn't seem to be the case. Ortiz last fought at UFC 84 in a unanimous decision loss to Lyoto Machida on the 24th of May; so that means that his 60 days are indeed up.However; Atencio also added that the only thing that needs to be ironed out on the Ortiz deal are the financial terms and that the fight card for the event will be released in a press conference August 6.
