Nick Diaz to fight Noons or Sakurai, has not been paid by Dream.

It looks like Nick Diaz will get one of the match ups he wanted for a title shot either for EliteXC or in Japan with Dream. One fight is being proposed for the October 4 EliteXC card with his long time nemesis KJ Noons for the lightweight belt. If EliteXC doesn't put this fight together then Diaz will travel to Japan to fight Mach Sakurai for the Dream Welterweight Championship. One really big problem that will keep Nick from fighting is that Dream has not paid Nick Diaz for his fight at Dream 3 against Katsuya Inoue that he won by TKO. This news is according to a new report out from our friends at Gracie Fighter.com.

"His recent wins have convinced EliteXC that his next fight should be a rematch with KJ Noons at the October 4th CBS show. However it is still unclear if KJ's camp will take the fight. Should they refuse then Diaz could be cleared to fight Mach Sakurai in Dream at the end of September. Diaz has wanted to fight Sakurai for the Dream Championship Belt, but a stumbling block to this fight has been that as of now Dream has still not paid him a cent for the last fight he participated in for their organization almost 3 months ago."

If Noons turns down a fight with Diaz there would be no doubt in anyones minds that he is "Ducking" a fight with Diaz. Nick Diaz was really tested against Thomas Denny and has used his loss to Noons and his removal from the Shamrock vs Le card to better himself as a fighter. With a potential title fight here or in Japan he needs to be more focused then ever. Dream also needs to pay Diaz before other fighters who they may want to see in their cards get wind of this. I dont know about you? I won't show up for a fight I'm not sure if I'm getting paid for. If I fight and live in the US and hear this I am going to want my "Dream" money up front or I'm not showing up half way around the world. Especially when you consider the cost of training for a fight and all the hard work you have to put in.
