Randy Couture will be back in a cage this year according to MSNBC Sports but not in the UFC, but in a movie entitled "Warrior". As we all know this is Couture's 3rd movie, the second that has featured Mixed Martial Arts. Here is a quote from the article, "Couture just signed on to another movie project entitled “Warrior,” and it’s an MMA-themed film about two estranged brothers on a collision course to a fight. (Wonder if it’s based on the Shamrocks?) Couture will play himself in the movie, which will begin shooting in January 2009.Many hardcore MMA fans weren’t too happy with this year’s MMA movie offering “Never Back Down,” calling it “The Fast & The Furious” meets MMA, but those fans will be interested to know that Gavin O’Connor, the director of this project, has an impressive resume." It is good to see the movie will not travel down the lines of Never Back Down and actually may have a good script along with a good director involved. I am yet to see Red belt but Never Back Down was pure crap and we all know it. Let's hope this movie will be one of the few that can shine a good light upon MMA.
