Why Forrest will become Champion at UFC 86, (Part 2) the reasons why he will beat Rampage

Reason #4, Forrest beat Shogun Rua and Rampage didn't. Before I am accused of using MMAmath, hear me out. Shogun Rua dominated Rampage in their only encounter in Pride, he broke Rampage's rib within the first two minutes of the opening bell. Griffin has gained confidence and momentum with the fact that he beat Rua and Rampage could not. This may be the mental advantage that Griffin needs to propel himself into victory over Rampage Jackson. Is it going to win the fight for him for sure? No, but it can't hurt his chances of having a little extra mental edge in knowing he beat Rua when Rampage was destroyed by him.

Reason #3, Wanderlei Silva wrote the blueprint to beating Rampage and then taught it to Shogun and now Forrest. As we all know earlier this week Forrest commented the former Chute Boxe trained Wanderlei Silva had been giving him advice and had been in his ear about how to beat Jackson. (Click here to view the article.) “The one thing he said was immediately grab the head and throw the knee instead of trying to set it up and make the perfect… bam! Grab and go, start throwing, don’t sit there and let him think about it." Could this be the gameplan on how to beat Rampage Jackson? Could Griffin be working on a Chute Boxe strategy with Silva who now trains with him in Las Vegas? One thing is for sure if Griffin decides to use a Chute Boxe knees in the clinch strategy and Rampage has somehow ignored to train in this old hole in his game it may be his Achilles heel and the end of his reign as Champion.

Reason #2, Forrest has mentally already beaten Rampage on the Ultimate Fighter. I think many people underestimate this aspect of a fight, mentally beating your opponent until you get under his skin. In having success in any aspect of my life the one thing I have noticed whether it is landing a new job, getting something I want especially women mental toughness and reading people's body language is a big key to success. Well I have been watching Griffin who is normally playful and silly was very mellow on this seasons Ultimate Fighter. The reason why? He has been fighting Rampage since the first day they began to choose fighters. Every win has mattered big or small, when one of Rampage's fighters lost by a close decision I could see Forrest was ecstatic. Especially after Rampage flipped out and told Forrest "I bet you our fight dont go to no decision". It was the excuse he needed to piss himself off and be angry at Jackson enough to break a door with a single kick. Do not underestimate this as a TV show hyped moment, Griffin loved the fact he had got under Jackson's skin. His statement is mental fuel for a motivational fire to train and be angry enough to actually dislike the loveable Jackson. Its not easy to be angry at a guy who is always joking. Look at every interview you see today and tommorow Rampage was seriously upset at how many of his fighters lost, especially his posterboy CB Dollaway to a guy he blew off and laughed at in Amir when he first saw him fight.

Reason # 1. There is no quit in Forrest Griffin he is never out of a fight.

How many times have you seen this picture this week on a MMA website you have visited when Forrest is talked about? This picture is always fresh in every MMA fan's mind when they think of Griffin they think of his first fight in the UFC against Stephan Bonnar. The amount of punishment and pain Forrest Griffin has taken only makes him stronger he feeds off of it. Griffin has learned from his loss to Keith Jardine and used it as an experience to know he can be knocked out and he needs to defend himself. Rampage will knock Forrest out if he is wreckless and stays within distance of him and doesn't use his reach, speed and size to evade Jackson until he can grind out a win. He can endure all the punishment Rampage can dish out and still make it to the fourth or fifth round and turn on his never say die fighting style and surprise Jackson. His tolerance of pain in a fight maybe something he can use to tire out Jackson who can open up on him delivering powerful strikes until he can tire himself. There is no quit in Griffin if this fight goes more than four rounds he will not quit and use his mental toughness to grind out a decision win. This would be a fairytale ending for him and the UFC and this would be one of the biggest upsets in MMA history right up there with his win over Shogun Rua. Forrest knows this may be his one and only shot at a title and he will use every advantage mentally or physically to grind out a win.

Tommorow. Why Rampage will still be Champion after UFC 86 and why this is the beginning of a new era for him and the UFC.
