Rich Franklin (24-4) will fight in the light heavyweight division at
UFC 88 for the first time in 3 years, his last fight was against Ken Shamrock at The Ultimate Fighter season 1 finale. He is also coming off of a win over
former TUF 4 winner Travis
Lutter. Franklin will also take on Ultimate fighter season 3 contestant Matt Hamill (4-1) who is coming off of a win at
UFN-13 where he beat Tim "The Barbarian"
Boetsch. Hamill used his much improved ground and pound to tag
Boetsch with hammer fists in the guard for a very impressive win.

In addition Former Pride Welterweight and Middleweight Champion Dan Henderson (22-7) will also fight for the first time since losing to Anderson Silva at
UFC 82. It was unknown if Henderson would move up to the 205 pound division or stay at middleweight where this fight will take place. His opponent for the fight will not be a easy one when he takes on
Rousimar Palhares (8-1), who is coming off of a win over the newly retired Ivan
Salaverry.
Palhares win was at
UFC 84 where he
transitioned from back position into a
Armbar to tap out
Salaverry.
Also on the card last will be Karo Parisyan (18-5) who will look to rebound from his loss to Thiago Alves and come back into title contention when he takes on Yoshiyuki Yoshida (10-2). Yoshida is a Judo practitioner like Karo in what the UFC is calling "The greatest" skills of Judo in the Octagon ever.
