Thiago Alves (16-3) who is set to face Diego Sanchez at UFC 90 in Chicago will be looking for his 7th straight win inside the Octagon since losing to Jon Fitch back at Ultimate Fight Night live in 2006. "Karo is a great guy, man. But everybody knows that he (Karo) talks a lot of shit. Thats just the way he is"
When asked by the interviewer about his keys to consistency since losing to Fitch in 2006 and stringing together 6 straight wins the Pitbull had this to say,
"I want Jon Fitch to win. Thats what I really want because then he will be holding the belt and it will be really nice to fight him for the belt and get my rematch. I would be able to fight him for the title and get my rematch at the same time so it will be perfect."
Alves is in his prime right now and coming into his own as a fighter he has no lack of competition in his weight class with Georges St.Pierre, Jon Fitch , Josh Koscheck, Mike Swick and several other fighters including his UFC 90 opponent Diego Sanchez. The future is bright for the UFC's 170 pound weight class as it is still possibly the deepest weight class in all of MMA as it has been for years. We look forward to seeing the division's best battles take shape over the next year and informing you of future fights.
