Ryo Chonan to face Roan Carneiro at UFC 88

The UFC appears to have booked another fight to the already stacked UFC 88: Breakthrough card by adding a welterweight matchup between Ryo Chonan (14-8) set to take on Roan Carneiro (12-7). The two fighters were originally set to face one another at last month's UFC 85: Bedlam, but Chonan had to pull out with a rib injury. Carneiro ended up taking on newcomer Kevin Burns. Carneiro lost the fight due to a second round triangle choke submission victory for Burns.

Chonan and Carneiro are no strangers to one another. They first met at DEEP's Impact show in 2005 with Chonan winning due to a cut on Carneiro's eyelid landing a flying knee to stop the fight. Chonan lost in his UFC debut to Karo Parisyan back at UFC 78 last November, so both fighters will be looking to get back on the winning track in this rematch.
