As we all know the numbers for Affliction's debut show Banned are beginning to come in as the week goes on. So far it seems Affliction's show was a success as far as ticket sales and fan approval. The only remaining question is how much the pay per view revenue was and how much money did it generate? As we know and reported to you earlier in the week many customers who ordered the event were left out in the cold by Time Warner and Comcast cable service providers (myself included). We will see if that plays a factor as the week goes on and the sales are announced. Affliction VP Tom Atencio who spoke with MMAJunkie.com and seemed confident about putting on Affliction's next card.
"We're obviously going to use the guys who won on Saturday. Josh Barnett definitely. Who we're going to set him up with? We're going to talk about that as well. Also, Andrei Arlovski definitely. We have three-fight contracts with these guys. And ... obviously Fedor. Everybody I'm sure wants to watch him fight. Is that guy amazing or what?"
Fans from our site who are also from the east coast should be a bit happy as MMAjunkie also was told by sources the event is possible for November 8 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. While nothing is set in stone and 100% close to done it is still being discussed and planned. While still in its early stages this should be good news for fans of New York and New Jersey who rarely get events close to them.
