Thiago Alves fails to make weight, Dana White "Its crazy"

Thiago Alves failed to make weight today for his fight against Matt Hughes. Alves came in at 174 pounds, 4 pounds over the Welterweight limit set by the UFC. Alves could not shed the extra weight so Matt Hughes agreed to a 175 pound catch weight. This does not bold well for Alves future title shot considerations, as we all know Dana White does not have patience when it comes to fighters who can not make weight. Dana today expressed his frustrations in a interview with Yahoo!Sports.com.
“I’m wondering if this kid [Thiago Alves] should be at 170 or not. If this were a title fight, I’d be really pissed. What are you going to do? Matt Hughes agreed to fight him at 175, so it’s not all bad. … I can’t wait to get this card behind me, to be honest with you. Eight guys dropped out. The main event guy can’t make weight. It’s crazy.”
Alves now also has to have on his mind the amount of hate mail Travis Lutter got after not making weight for his Middleweight title shot last February. Lutter said in a UFC countdown "I got more hate mail then Osama Bin Laden". Alves now has to make sure he can put this behind him for his fight against Hughes tommorow night.
