Tatame today confirmed that Paulo Filho (16-0) will once again defend his WEC Middleweight title against Chael Sonnen (20-9) WEC 36 on Septmeber 6. This fight is a rematch of a controversial submission victory Filho has over Sonnen in December. Filho was dominated through out the whole fight by Sonnen, until he caught Sonnen in a Armbar with just 5 seconds remaining on the clock for the round. Sonnen had yelled when the Armbar was applied and the referee took it as Sonnen was trying to submit and called the fight.
Graciefighter.com today confirmed that Nate Diaz (9-2) who is trained under Cesar Gracie, will fight Josh "The Dentist" Neer (24-6) at Ultimate Fight Night 14 on September 17. Both fighters are coming off of wins at the last Ultimate fight night which was a segway for the premiere of TUF 7. Diaz is coming off a submission (Triangle) win over Kurt Pellegrino and Neer is coming off a win over Din Thomas by decision.
The Affliction: Banned event at the Honda Center in Anaheim,Ca.continues to stack up as the promotion adds former UFC and Pride veteran Vitor Belfort set to take on another former UFC competitor Terry Martin. Belfort will be competing for the first time since September of last year. As for Martin he will be competing in the Adrenaline inaugural show this Saturday. Also added to the undercard will be JJ Ambrose taking on Mike Pyle. Tito Ortiz talks about moving up to Heavyweight to fight Kimbo Slice in EliteXC
