Zuffa's reaction to Fridays ruling

As we all know Zuffa won a battle on Friday in their ongoing litigation against Randy Couture for their counter suit claiming he breached his contract with the UFC and Zuffa. Here is the first remark towards the Texas courts ruling towards "Zuffa’s motion to compel Randy Couture to arbitrate in the District of Nevada." In other words this will not take place in Texas as Randy Couture and HDNet's owner Mark Cuban would have hoped. Here is their first reaction on the ruling from their legal counsel Donald J. Campbell,

The practical effect of the Court’s decision is to allow Zuffa to continue its prosecution of claims against Mr. Couture in the Arbitration presently underway here in Nevada without any regard to the flaccid claims of HDNet and its management. Based upon evidence uncovered during the interrogation of Mr. Couture during his deposition, we have every confidence that Mr. Couture will be held accountable for the serious and ongoing breaches of his contractual obligations to Zuffa.”

As we know this all began when Randy Couture resigned from his UFC contract in hopes of a fight with Fedor. We hope this situation gets resolved soon and we can see the fight while it still has momentum and significance in MMA. As we know Zuffa's strategy is to prolong the issue in court in hopes of waiting out Couture and hoping he will cave in. Couture even recently said in a interview that was what he expected Zuffa to do. We will keep you posted as usual.
