As we all know earlier in the week there were rumors that Affliction VP Tom Atencio would ask fighters to take a pay cut for the second Affliction show. Josh Barnett was asked about the rumor as well and said there is no way he would take a pay cut if asked. Now on his Myspace blog Barnett cleared up the rumor of being asked to take a pay cut.
Straight from the mouths of my friends Tom Atencio and Todd Beard; No one is being asked to take a pay cut. They would never ask anyone to take a pay cut and don't intend to. Tom was only referring to any fighters that may have been thinking that they could get an exorbitant amount of money from Affliction just because. Again, no pay cuts asked and expected and they are doing just fine.
This should squash any rumors of a potential pay cut (for now) that the fighters are being asked to take for Affliction's second show, rumored to be on October 2 in Las Vegas at the Thomas and Mack center. As we all know the newest rumor has Barnett facing Andrei Arlovski in the main event after Fedor was also rumored to be out of the bout with Arlovski with a hand injury.
