Dana White "It wasn't psychiatric at all, it was physical."

Dana White has stated in various interviews and comments that he has backed Quinton Rampage Jackson in his time of need. As we all know the former champion has had legal trouble ever since being arrested for alleged felony hit and run in California.
The troubles have mounted since then with Rampage being arrested two days later and allegedly held under psychiatric hold by police after people called 911 on him. Last week a report also came out that a woman who was injured and pregnant at the time of the accident had also miscarried. As we all know this should also bring a civil suit on top of any criminal charges Jackson will face in the future. Along with all his trouble various sources close to Jackson also stated the fighter during his troubles was hearing voices and thought he was God. Now in a new interview with Sportsnet Dana White denied reports of any psychiatric problems and claims the problems stemmed from Rampage's reported three day fasting with no food and living on energy drinks.

"It wasn't psychiatric at all, it was physical," said White. "He had a physical condition -- exhaustion, dehydration that caused delirium."The alleged incident happened after Jackson lost his title July 5 to Forrest Griffin in Las Vegas.White said Jackson, a California native, had remained in Las Vegas for a week after the fight and was fasting -- living on energy drinks alone."Bad combination," said White."Physically and mentally he's OK. Now he's got some legal problems, obviously."

This seems to be contrary to statements made by sources close to Jackson and maybe damage control over the incident to put another spin on it. Remember Rampage will have to fight again one day for the UFC even if it does not seem it will happen in the foreseeable future. The rumors of his mental instability would and could hurt his long term marketing potential especially if the rumors are true. If it is proven that the woman who lost her child was due to the accident it could be catastrophic for Jackson's career in every way. As we all know in the sports world bad publicity is always a home run, touchdown or win away from being forgotten. In this case it is a "Ultimate Fighter" so it may come under more scrutiny from the press. Lets hope we hear from Jackson soon on the incident and hope he has taken the necessary steps towards getting his life in order.
