Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Cung Le decided to take some time off after his blockbuster matchup with MMA legend Frank Shamrock (whom he defeated to earn the title) back in March at a joint Strikeforce/EliteXC event. Since than Le has started up somewhat of an acting career. Le will appear in a few movies coming out in 2009 like the video game adaptation of "Tekken" where Le will be playing the character of "Marshall Law" and he will also be coming out in a movie co - starring with actor Terence Howard in a movie called "Fighter".Strikeforce officials are saying that Le will make a return in the early months of 2009. In a quote from MMAjunkie.com Strikeforce VP Mike Afromowitz had this to say about Le and his acting career, "He deserves the time to do that, as long as he comes back in shape."
With former Pride Middleweight Grand Prix Champion Kazuo Misaki signing on with the California based organization earlier this year he could get a shot at Le's title as he makes his debut for the promotion September 20 as he takes on Joe Riggs at the Playboy Mansion event dubbed "Strikeforce at the Mansion 2".
