Rampage "Shogun's girlfriend could have beat him that night"

In an interview with fiveouncesofpain.com current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rampage said that Forrest Griffin's win over Shogun did not matter. Rampage might have been talking trash to hype their upcoming fight or take away credit from Forrest's biggest win.
"Shogun wasn’t the same. If I watch that fight and try to go off that fight. I’d be misled because Shogun wasn’t 100 percent. Heck, Shogun’s girlfriend could have beat him that night.”

Shogun Rua is the last fighter to beat Rampage three years ago at Pride- Total Elimination 2005. Rua broke Rampage's ribs in the first minute of their fight with a knee to the body. After the strike Rua picked apart Jackson like a sniper one knee and strike at a time until he was left out cold in the corner and the referee stopped the fight.

PRIDE Total Elimination 2005

There is no doubt that Jackson would love a rematch with Rua. There was a rumor before his fight with Griffin that if Shogun won he would be fighting Rampage for the title next. When Griffin won the fight by rear naked choke it derailed any plans for a possible rematch any time soon. Griffin who is set to be fighting has said Wanderlei Silva has been in his ear about the strategy both he and Shogun used to beat Rampage so we will find out if he uses it to his advantage come Saturday.
