Mirko Cro Cop to pull out for Dream 5

There is a report indicating that former Pride OWGP Champion Mirko Cro Cop will withdraw from his matchup with Jerome LeBanner and and elect to have arthroscopic surgery on his knee and have some treatment done on his right elbow. This is what the Croatian had to say on his scheduled matchup and surgery to be done on his personal blog.

" I won't be fighting at Dream 5 at all. I was about to face Jerome LeBanner, but he opted to face Semmy Schilt in K-1. " Cro Cop was gonna fight Mighty Mo as a replacement for LeBanner, but Mo also pulled out from the fight; so Cro Cop decided to opt for surgery on his knee which he said was troubling him for quite some time. "I'm scheduled for arthroscopy tomorrow morning and it will be about 2-3 weeks before I can start training again. I will be ready by September 23. I would really like to fight Alistair Overeem, we all know why and I won't let it go."
There was a report earlier last month that Alistair Overeem was saying that Cro Cop was ducking him for the last couple of years and that explains why he said that in his blog. Mirko also says in his blog that his goal is to be the first Dream Heavyweight Champion and that sometime in 2009 he would like to have a rematch with Fedor Emelianenko.
