Martin Kampmann out again with knee injury.

Martin Kampmann (16-2) last year seemed to be on his way up the UFC's Middleweight division ladder to a title shot. He handed highly favored Thales Leites his only loss at the TUF 4 finale and on his way to fighting Rich Franklin at UFC 72 in Ireland. Than Kampmann injured his knee while training with Xtreme Couture right before the fight and was out of the Octagon for over a year. In a fighters career nothing can be worse than down time especially outside of the Octagon where their competitors get better every day. Kampmann finally fought at UFC 85 against Jorge Rivera beating the crafty veteran by rear naked choke in the first round.

Kampmann was finally back on the comeback trail and ready to once again climb the ladder of the UFC's middleweight division. Now a report today claims the Denmark born fighter will miss more time due to a knee injury.
A report out of Fightline.com says that Kampmann will be out of action again indefinitely. Doctors have told him that he will need arthroscopic surgery on his knee in order to return to the Octagon again. Kampmann's representatives said they are not sure when he will return to the UFC to fight again. He will also begin rehabbing the knee as soon as October or November. We here at UR Dirt hope for his return is soon and will not effect him and derail his progress again long term.
