Kid Yamamoto out for Dream 5

Dream fans waiting for Kid Yamamoto's (17-1) debut will have to wait a bit longer for his first fight under the FEG/K-1's new MMA banner. Nightmare of battle is reporting that the Japanese 145 pound superstar is out of his fight at Dream 5, "More bad news. "Kid" injured his right knee in training and won’t fight at DREAM.5. This injury might take half a year to heal." This comes off as a big dissapointment to fans who have not seen him as active as they would like lately. His last win came at K-1 Premium on NYE of last year where he beat WEC fighter Rani Yahya by a combination of punches and soccer kicks. The fight was appealed by Yahya's management because the soccer kicks were illegal, but unsucessful as FEG ruled the kicks were not the cause of the end of the fight. There is no word if or who Yamamoto's opponent Joseph Benavidez will fight at Dream 5 with a replacement fighter or moved to another card.
