James Irvin tests positive faces suspension of up to a year

In a shocking report from the NSAC James Irvin has tested positive for Methadone and Oxymorphone at UFN-14. Methadone is used amongst Heroine addicts to kick their addiction to the drug, but is a legal substance. Oxymorphone is a sedative that is used amongst people for severe pain relief. This can not be good for Irvin as he may face suspension for up to a year from fighting in Mixed martial arts in the US. The report also says that 11 of the 22 fighters who competed were tested for banned substances including Anderson Silva, James Irvin, Cain Velasquez, Hermes Franca, CB Dollaway, Brandon Vera, and Tim Credeur (who tested positive for Aderall at Tuf 7 Finale), Frankie Edgar, Nate Loughran and Shannon Gugerty. The NSAC and CSAC have made sure that there mission statement is clear to fighters who want to use banned substances"Test positive and you will be punished".

Methadone

Keep in mind that Dave Meltzer also reported last week that a new test for HGH is awaiting FDA approval that can test for the Hormone in fighters and athletes urine. By the way I have worked at a hospital for 7 years now Methadone is not a easy drug to stop using. One medical professional who wished to remain anonymous told me

"You can quit smoking, heroine, crack/cocaine cold turkey it is proven you will survive withdrawal from it. If you try to quit Methadone which is a legal drug it will kill you if you attempt to quit it cold turkey. Not might, will kill you and it leaves people who use it walking around like zombies with missing teeth."
This may come as a surprise to some of you who have never heard of the potent drug. This is not to say that Irvin himself was using drugs in any way shape or form as we do not have details that tell us that right now. This was written to fill you in on what powerful prescription drug's effects are.
