Couture talks Fedor and contract situation

Randy Couture is the UFC's current Heavyweight Champion and has not fought since last year at UFC 74 when he successfully defended his title against Gabriel Gonzaga. At the time the division did not have a clear favorite to challenge Couture for his title. Even current Champion Antonio Nogueira did not look impressive in his win over Heath Herring at UFC 73. At the time everyone talked about a possible fight between Couture and current number one Heavyweight in the world Fedor. As we all know after a second attempt to sign the Russian superstar by the UFC did not work Couture resigned from his contract. Couture did not want to fight anyone else in the UFC or otherwise unless it was Fedor. Couture has resigned from 2 contracts with the UFC now in an interview with Foxsports.com he spoke about his upcoming legal battle. "When, where and with what promotion, we don't know," "It could happen in UFC. We just don't know. I want it to happen. Fedor wants it to happen. In some way, shape or form, we're going to make it happen."
Couture also stated he would wait for the Courts decision and if he lost his motion said he will wait to decide as to whether he will fight Nogueira, another fighter or retire.

When Couture was asked about his analysis of the Fedor vs Sylvia fight he said "Very explosive, he (Fedor) came out firing with a left hook and just finished. He had him hurt and took his back I had a little flash back, (refering to his fight against Sylvia at UFC 68). I was like Oh man! Then he ended getting the choke and getting Tim to tap. He was very, very impressive. I think the thing that impresses me the most is the way he walks out. You know he walks out like he's going to a picnic or something. Its very impressive and he is fun to watch, I understand why everyone thinks he is number 1 in the world." We will keep you updated on any new or updates that comes our way in the near future.
