Chris Lytle to face Paul Taylor at UFC 89

Chris Lytle (25-16-5) is known for being one tough fighter with a never say die attitude. Something he displayed at UFC 86 in his fight against Josh Koscheck. Lytle was cut open badly from elbows Koscheck had landed to his face and head in their fight turning his curly blonde locks pink from all the blood Lytle lost. Still Lytle proceeded on and to the delight of the fans and swung for the fences while being hobbled and handicapped from his injury. Lytle according to his manager Ken Pavia told MMAjunkie.com that he has resigned a contract extension with the UFC and will fight Paul Taylor (9-3-1) at UFC 89.

This should make for an interesting fight style wise Lytle has adapted to a more agressive style of fighting after losing to Matt Hughes at UFC 68 by decision. Since then he has finished 3 of his last 5 fights, his losses coming to Thiago Alves in a controversial stoppage at UFC 78 due to cuts. The other to Koscheck where he survived 3 rounds barely able to see or stand.

Taylor on the other hand has bounced back from back to back losses to Paul Kelly and Marcus Davis in stand up battles, with a win over Jess Liaudin by split decision on the undercard of UFC 85. He likes to stand up and take it to his opponents with pinpoint strikes, almost finishing Marcus Davis with a head kick back at UFC 75.
