Kimbo Slice Vs Mark Hunt possible?

Mark Hunt the former K-1 and Pride superstar superstar is finally fighting in MMA again at Dream 5 after being out for almost a year and a half . His last fight against the unstoppable Fedor showed how much Hunt had improved from making the transition to an MMA fighter. He showed why he is quite possibly the most agile big man in MMA by escaping submission and takedown attempts. In a interview earlier this week with MMAweekly.com Hunt expressed interest in fighting Kimbo Slice, a fight that is very possible with given the relationship that Dream and EliteXC have. This would not be the first time the two companies have exchanged fighters Nick Diaz has fought for Dream recently and is rumored to be fighting Mach Sakurai at Dream 6. Eddie Alvarez is a participant in the Dream tournament and is now one of the final four contestants and two wins away from winning the whole tournament.

Hunt in his interview had this to say about a possible fight with Slice. "I always hear the stories about Kimbo. He got his name through fighting, but I heard he has a degree or something? I have no idea. He made his name through shoot fighting, or street fighting on YouTube, which is pretty good exposure for him. But we’ll have to see what happens. He has gone and trained sort of how I did you know. If the opportunity comes it would be a good fight, a good money earner."

Hunt would of course have to take a number and get in line, but this would be a fight that should interest Kimbo because of Hunt's credibility. In his years with Pride Hunt fought and beat former Grad Prix winner Mirko Cro Cop and former Middleweight champion Wanderlei Silva. He also has fought Fedor and put up a great showing catching the great champion in a kimura submission that seemed as if it could end the fight at any minute. This could be the credibility win Slice would need to begin winning over hardcore MMA fans who have blasted him in the past. On the other hand they would also tune in to this fight just to watch Hunt a beloved fighter hopefully decimate the hated Slice. If this fight took place in Japan on New Years Eve it would give Slice a new market he could potentially become a bigger star in then here in the US. In Japan Bob Sapp was once treated like Lebron James or Kobe Bryant is in the US, and made a ton of money doing so. This would of course also give EliteXC something the UFC doesn't have a person who could sell tickets in Japan. Lets hope that Dream and EliteXC can make this fight happen because it would be a fan favorite.
