It has been confirmed that the up and coming Dream promotion has added another fight to the July 21st card at Osaka Hall in Osaka ,Japan as Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto will take on Urijah Faber's sparring partner Joseph Benavidez who is undefeated in his first seven fights finishing all of them.
" Ratings for the final 51 minutes of CBS's inaugural CBS ELITEXC SATURDAY NIGHT FIGHTS mixed martial arts broadcast (11:00-11:51 PM, ET/PT), which were unavailable Sunday, delivered an average audience of 6.12 million viewers, according to updated Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Saturday, May 31. The audience peaked at 6.51 million viewers from 11:30-11:51 PM which featured the night's main event—Kimbo Slice's victory over James Thompson."
So it is safe to say that Kimbo while not considered a top Heavyweight in MMA, he is still a Heavyweight when it comes to peeking the interest of viewers. With ratings this successful it is safe to say there will be future EliteXC cards on CBS. These ratings almost double the expected 3 to 4 million viewers Gary Shaw EliteXC president predicted.
TUF 7 participants Dante River and Matthew Riddle will face off at the TUF 7 finale according to mmaweekly.com. No word if the fight will take place on the under card of main card. The finale at this point has more UFC fighters then TUF 7 cast members.
