Jake Shields to face Nick Thompson July 26th on CBS. Diego Sanchez earns top dollar at the TUF 7 Finale.




It has been reported by Dave Meltzer of Yahoo! Sports that Jake Shields will now go one on one with Nick "The Goat" Thompson July 26 on CBS "Saturday Night Fights" which will feature a rematch between Robbie Lawler and Scott Smith. Shields and Thompson will fight for the vacant EliteXC welterweight championship.


Diego Sanchez not only won in his bout with Luigi Fioravanti he also earned top billing at the TUF 7 Finale this past Saturday night in Las Vegas by making $70,000. Second came Spencer Fisher with an estimated $36,000 and Kendall Grove came out with $32,000.

*It is reported by the NSAC that Tim Credeur and Cale Yarbrough both earned their respected base pay of $8,000 despite the bout being scrapped due to Credeur testing positive for the banned substance adderall.

"Fight of the Night" bonus went to Dustin Hazelett and Josh Burkman each earning $20,000 and Hazelett earned an extra $20,000 for "Submission of the Night". And "Knockout of the Night" honors go to Drew McFedries KO of Marvin Eastman. These bonuses are not part of the fighter's base salaries.
