KJ "King Karl" Noons (6-2) vs. Yves Edwards (34-13-1) Lightweight championship
KJ Noons will defend his EliteXC lightweight title for the 1st time against American Top Team vet Yves Edwards who also used to train with Noons. KJ has a huge boost of confidence going into this fight feeling that he can compete with the top fighters in the 160lb. division he also has a very underrated standup game.As for Edwards;he is an exceptional striker who will continue his current 3 fight win streak and with ATT in his corner he could only get better.
Nelo's pick- Yves Edwards by TKO 3rd Round. (Punches and Knees). Although Noons has good striking skills, Edwards is a little better.
Alberto's Pick- KJ Noons by decision. KJ Vs Yves is such a close fight my Heart tells me Yves my Head tells me KJ. Its so close to call for me I'm just going against Nelo's pick for the hell of it.
Nick Diaz (17-7) vs. Muhsin Corbbrey (8-2).
This should be a very interesting bout with fight of the night potential as Nick Diaz and Muhsin Corbbrey look to inch closer to an EliteXC lightweight title shot. Both fighters have almost a similar contrast in styles.Diaz was very impressive at last month's Dream 3 event against Katsuya Inoue and Corbbrey also looks to go beyond his current 3 fight win streak.
Nelo's pick- Nick Diaz by Split Decision. I look for Diaz to pepper Corbbrey with his jab and try to submit him on the ground as well.
Alberto's pick - Diaz by submission Strikes. This is too close on the ground but Diaz has the better striking.
Murilo "Ninja" Rua (15-8-1) vs. Tony "The Gun" Bonello (16-0-1)
It will be Rua's 2nd fight since losing the EliteXC middleweight championship to Robbie Lawler last September as he says will look for the knockout against King of the Cage veteran Tony Bonello. Both fighters are well versed in submissions, so look for both fighters to put on a jiu-jitsu clinic if they don't keep it standing.
"Nelo's upset pick of the night"Nelo's pick- Tony Bonello by Submission (Rear Naked Choke) 1st Round. Bonello will look to make a statement in this fight as he outmuscles Rua on the ground.
Alberto's pick - Ninja by T/KO. If it goes any farther then 2 Ninja gasses and he will lose.
Dave "Pee Wee" Herman (10-0) vs. Ron Waterman (15-5-2)
A very intriguing matchup as everyone will get to see what Dave "Pee Wee" Herman is all about against a very tough Ron Waterman. This match could however be a stalemate as both fighters could be jockeying for position most of the fight, but Herman has finished 7 of his 10 fights mainly by KO.
Nelo's pick- Herman by TKO (Ground and Pound) 2nd Round. I believe Herman will be every bit of impressive as he finishes Waterman with top position on the ground.
Alberto's pick - Pee Wee Herman. Waterman wont be this up and comings stars first loss.
