Gary Shaw gets some last shot in before EliteXC and CBS's Saturday night Fights.
Gary Shaw, "Dana White will be watching us at home on CBS."
EliteXC held a final conference yesterday at Spotlight live in New York City for its upcoming 1st event Live on CBS. Gary Shaw and the EliteXC roster was on hand to make statements to the press again. Shaw in a big time"Rubbing salt in the wound" statement had this to say about Dana White.
"(UFC’s) Dana White will be at home watching us on CBS.When he rips Kimbo Slice, it only proves he is an idiot. When he says that BJ Penn is the best fighter in the whole family and can knock out Kimbo Slice, the DEA should raid his home.I know BJ Penn would never say that and is probably embarrassed. Although BJ Penn is the best fighter in the family, he’s not the smartest Penn (JD, his brother, is an executive at EliteXC)."
EliteXC's fighters also had this to say about the first ever MMA event to air on national Television.

“I don’t have much to say. I want to thank CBS and EliteXC.CBS rules.
I don’t feel like all the pressure is on me to perform a certain way. Not at all.
I don’t underestimate any fighter.Just because he has lost a couple fights, doesn’t mean he isn’t going to come out strong.’’

“It is a wonderful opportunity for me. I have come in nice and quiet and I am looking forward to it. It has been a long time coming to get on CBS.I am very lucky and I look forward to making the most of it.’’

"The WEC has actually turned out to be 10 times the product Pride ever was".
This is sure to add more fuel to the fire of the anger and hate Dana White gets from former Pride fans. One thing that came out of the interview that I found interesting.
"We might just go from under 155 down and add a couple more lighter weights". When he was asked about a overlap at the 155 and 170 pound UFC divisions.The WEC does have Faber and Pulver fighting this weekend maybe it is a sneak preview to a future UFC 145 pound division.

I know EliteXC is getting a lot of the press and a lot of the hype this weekend but Sunday one fight that can steal the attention is Urijah Faber Vs Jens Pulver.The WEC has put together a stellar packed card featuring Faber Vs Pulver and also features 135 pound Champion Miguel Torres.If you hear all the pre-fight hype this is going to be a great card and fight.
Sokoudjou,"Shogun has been ducking me since the Pride days."
In a interview with fighthype.com Sokoudjou (5-2) went on to say he felt Mauricio Shogun Rua has been ducking him since the Pride days.Sokoudjou after his (TKO) win at UFC 84 over Kazuhiro Nakamura had only one word to say."Shogun".It told us everything we needed to know about who the Team Quest fighter wanted as his next opponent.Sokoudjou who made his first appearence at Pride 33 with a KO win over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and then over Ricardo Arona at Pride 34.Seems to be looking to add another top 10 Pride fighter to his list of wins.
Hopefully if he cannot get Shogun who is out with a injured knee,probably he can get his former teammate at Chute Boxe Wanderlei Silva to accept the fight.We can only hope.
