UFC 87: Seek and Destroy trailer, KJ Noons Says Diaz is not number 1 contender.

The first UFC 87: seek and destroy Promo trailer. I cant wait for this event GSP VS Fitch, Lesnar Vs Herring, Huerta Vs Florian. Can this be the best UFC card all year? I think so but we have to wait to see so heres something to get your blood boiling.

Kimbo Slice Vs Brett Rogers confirmed for October.

As we all know Brett Rogers accused Kimbo Slice of tapping out in the first round of his fight with James Thompson when he was caught in a Guillotine choke. Rogers in the post fight press conference made it known he wanted to fight Kimbo Slice even going as far as to use MMA math saying Kimbo had struggled with a guy he beat in one round. So last week on www.fightline.com Jared Shaw confirmed the fight in a interview.

"It depends on the timing of which platform we're on that month and week and what works for Rogers and Kimbo, but they've got each other," said Shaw. "This fight will happen in October."

So after a lot of hype its official Kimbo Vs Brett Rogers will take place in October. Lets hope Rogers isn't dumb enough to come in with a bloated ear.

Brandon Vera replies to rumors of Ducking Machida and fight with Reese Andy.

When the rumors of UFN 14 first started Brandon Vera was linked to Wanderlei Silva and Lyoto Machida. Wanderlei did not take the fight because it was not enough time to train for a fight in 5 weeks notice. So Vera was also asked about a possible fight with Lyoto Machida a fight he turned down. After that a lot of people started rumors he had ducked Machida a very dangerous opponent with 13 wins in a row. Vera is coming off of two losses and fighting in the 205 pound division for the first time passed up the chance to fight him and now will be fighting Reese Andy at UFN 14.

PRIDE 33: Second Coming, Nick Diaz Vs Takanori Gomi.

So as we continue our poll and quest to find out which fight in MMA history is the greatest of all time. Here on URDirt.com I would like to make up for the fights I couldn't put on the list due to time constraints and one hell of a packed list. The one fight I see over and over again is a great one but it got cut off of the list at the last minute. In the second to last PPV event in PRIDE FC history Takanori Gomi came to America for the first time to fight a UFC veteran in Nick Diaz. The forums went crazy when Diaz was announced a week or so before PRIDE's second American event. Rumors of PRIDE's closing ran rampant as the company continued to still put out the greatest product overseas in Japan. Dan Henderson Vs Wanderlei Silva was the fight fans wanted to see that night but Takanori Gomi Vs Nick Diaz stole the show. So I officially put this fight on as one of the greatest fights in MMA history as voted by the fans.

Sergei Kharitonov to be possible opponent for Antonio Silva July 26 on CBS

According to sherdog.com the 6'4" Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva (10-1) and former Pride vet Sergei Kharitonov (15-3) have verbally agreed to face one another July 26 in Stockton, California. This will determine who will become the first EliteXC Heavyweight Champion on CBS "Saturday Night Fights". Silva is coming off of a decision victory over former UFC Heavyweight Champ Ricco Rodriguez at EliteXC: Street Certified in February to earn a shot at the title and Kharitonov is coming off a TKO victory over Alistair Overeem this past September at K-1 Hero's Tournament Final. Kharitonov was avenging an earlier loss to Overeem from their days in Pride.

Jared Shaw reacts to Rumors of Gary Shaw ousting at EliteXC

Rumors going around Tuesday night were that Gary Shaw would be slowly downsized in power at EliteXC after the July 26 show in Stockton, California. The rumor said he also would eventaully be phased out of power and fired, MMApayout.com was first to report the rumor. Jared Shaw, Gary Shaw's son had this to say about the rumors in a interview with MMArated.com.

"All the reports I have read have been absolutely erroneous. There’s no truth to CBS pushing Gary Shaw out or anything like that. Gary might not be as much in the limelight because of his other business, which is boxing. He’s also spending a little more time at home with the rest of his family. You’re going to see Jared Shaw everyday so you don’t have to think that Gary Shaw is gone. I don’t know why they would keep one Shaw and not another. We’re both here and Gary is still a major force. He’s still spoken to everyday…He’s a major part of this company and everything he’s done as a promoter we’ll continue to utilize and continue to follow his lead."

No one knows how true the rumors are but with CBS taking a now vested interest in EliteXC they may choose to go in a different direction for its viewers. Espec
ially since many fans have described the company as a circus and the WWE of MMA. One thing that is certain is that EliteXC will have an event on July 26 in Stockton, California.

This is going to be a very good fight between a good striker (Cote) Vs a very good Jiu-Jitsu fighter (Almeida), this fight in the trailer for UFC 86 is said to be for the number 1 contender at Middleweight. Which no one knows if Anderson Silva is going to defend anytime soon rumors point to UFC 88 if he leaves UFN 14 with no injuries. Yushin Okami seems to be the logical choice so we will find out after UFN 14 on July 19.
